Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother

LUNENBURG -- Joan A. (Naylor) Bellafiore, 80, of Lunenburg, died Monday, May 5, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at her side.

Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 1934 and was the daughter of the late William Y. Naylor of Providence, RI and the late Etta I. M. Hagstrom of Sweden.

Joan graduated from Leominster High School in 1952. She also attended and graduated from Stevens Business College in 1954.

Joan's father served in the military in WWII with Johnny Wisemiller better known as "Tarzan" who was also an Olympic swimmer. She was influenced by him and became a Red Cross Swimming Instructor at Lake Whalom. She had a great passion for children and loved teaching them to swim. Later on when grandchildren came along she loved teaching them to swim as well. At a young age she lost her father and with her mother going to work she assumed the responsibility of help raising her three younger siblings. Joan married the love of her life Vito and was married for 58 years. She was passionately devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her family, which she will forever live on in their hearts.

In her true spirit Joan always was extremely generous with her time and talent. Whether it was baking or knitting for the church or offering her time volunteering at school function for St. Bernard's Elementary. Joan was a true testament to her gracious giving nature which came genuinely from her heart.

She is survived by her loving husband Vito J. Bellafiore and their four children. A daughter Diane J. Bellafiore Tagliavia, and her husband Paul of Fitchburg, a daughter Susan J. Bellafiore, of Leominster, a daughter JoAnn L. Bellafiore Robichaud, and her husband Steve of High Point, NC, and a son Michael P. Bellafiore, and his wife Diane of Roswell, GA. She also leaves behind four grandchildren; a grandson Anthony J. Bellafiore of Leominster, a grandson Jonathan S. and a granddaughter Anna Belle Robichaud of High Point, NC and a grandson Christopher L. Bellafiore of Roswell, GA . She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Francis Bellafiore and a sister Joyce D. Percival of Fitchburg,and a niece and nephew.

She was predeceased by a sister Carole Y. LeBlanc, a brother William Naylor, and a brother-in-law, Paul A. Bellafiore.

BELLAFIORE -- A private Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St. Fitchburg, MA.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
