LANCASTER -- John J. Martin, 60, of Lancaster, died Friday, September 13, 2013, in UMass-Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves a brother, James L. Martin, of Lancaster; three sisters: Adele M. Martin-Farrell and her husband, Joseph, of Leominster, Jean Tomolo and her husband, Richard, of Clinton, and Doris I. Haapanen and her husband, Kurt, of Holden; two nieces: Melissa Tomolo and Jenifer Clarke and her husband, Michael; a nephew, Richard Tomolo; and a great-niece, Analise Tomolo.

John was born in Clinton and raised in Lancaster, son of the late John E. and Doris I. (Densmore) Martin. He was a graduate of Nashoba Regional High School, Class of 1971, and a lifelong resident of Lancaster.

For many years John worked in the Shipping & Receiving Department at the former GenRad Co. He also worked for several years at Sonoco Products Co., prior to retirement.

John was a member of the Clinton Lodge of Elks and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed building scale models, collecting tools and gadgets, and had a love for antique cars.

MARTIN -- A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., in the McNally& Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday from 4:00-7:00p.m., prior to the funeral service. Private burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Leominster Senior Center, 5 Pond St., Leominster, MA 01453. Please designate as a memorial gift in honor of John J. Martin.
