Joseph Robichaud
of Fitchburg; 97

FITCHBURG -- Joseph Robichaud, 97, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully October 31, 2013, in Legends Nursing and Rehab, Gardner, MA.

He was born on March 19, 1916 in St. Antoine, N.B., Canada, the son of Amedee and Eugenie (Richard) Robichaud. He was raised in Canada before he came to live here in 1950.

Joe was a self employed contractor and carpenter for over 30 years retiring in 1981.

After retirement, he along with his late wife, Lea, loved to travel to Canada for their summers and Florida in the winter. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and was a avid fisherman. He was also a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins.

He was a loving husband and father, and most enjoyed spending time with his grand and great grandchildren, and having Tuesday dinners at his home, with all of his family.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Church.

He leaves his two daughters, Annette and her husband, Norman LeBlanc of Fitchburg, MA, and Jeannine and her husband, Robert Bourque, also of Fitchburg, MA; two sisters, Rita Maillet and Antonine Savoie, both living in Canada; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; along with several nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Lea (Roy) Robichaud in 2006, his daughter, Theresa LeClerc, his brothers, Emil, Louis, Roger, Zenon, and Yvon Robichaud, and two sisters, Irene and Bertha.

ROBICHAUD -- His funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society and may be left at the funeral home.
