Beloved sister and auntie; 82
FITCHBURG -- Loretta "Lorrie" M. (Haaker) Goguen, 82, died peacefully in the early morning hours of February 20, 2014, at the Highlands Life Care Center in Fitchburg, where she had resided for the past four years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Goguen, who died in 1990.
She leaves her brother, Clarence R. Haaker of Leominster; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Warren (Elinor) Haaker of Leominster, also many godchildren and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Loretta is also predeceased by four brothers, Carl Haaker, Warren Haaker, Walter Haaker and Raymond Haaker, and three sisters, Elizabeth DesJardins, Ruth Caron and Sally Bresnahan.
Loretta was born in Fitchburg on April 16, 1931, the youngest daughter of the late Charles J. and Alice (Ward) Haaker. She was a proud 1950 graduate of Saint Bernard's Central Catholic High School. Her most recent employment was at the Market Basket in Leominster as a cashier for 18 years, retiring, at the age of 77. She also worked for Digital and Independent Lock as an assembler. Loretta was an excellent seamstress, who often sewed her own dresses for the weekly dances at the St. Joseph's Club, where she and her husband, Al were the envy of everyone on the floor. Their "second home" was York Beach, ME, where they spent splendid sun filled hours in the company of family and friends. She was a member of both St. Joseph's and St. Bernard's Churches. With joyful hearts, we send her back to her childhood sweetheart. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers are reunited once again dancing to Sinatra tunes.
