WESTMINSTER -- Richard N. Paradise, Sr., died Friday, October 19, 2013, at UMass Memorial Healthcare Center, in Worcester, after an illness.
He was the husband of 39 years, to the late Jeannette M. (Dauphinais) Paradise.
He leaves two sons, Richard N. Paradise, Jr., of Westminster, James T. Paradise, of Gardner; four grandchildren; two brothers, David J. Paradise, of Athol, Norman D. Paradise, of Maine; his companion of 12 years, Anna Hebert of Westminster; and several nieces and nephews.
Dick was born on June 8, 1935, in Ayer, a son of the late David J. and S. Lillian (Chew) Paradise. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1953.
Dick worked for Croker Burbank, Weyerhaeuser, Crocker Tech, and James River Paper Companies, as a foreman, retiring in 1997. He served on the Board of Directors for the Croker Burbank Credit Union.
He also served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, from 1954-1958, and continued serving in the US Navy Reserves until 1962. He was a member of the William S. Miller, American Legion Post 174, in Westminster, and the Mid State Antique Auto Club.
PARADISE -- Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 8:00 pm, in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA 01473. Calling Hours will be in the Funeral Home on Tuesday prior to the Funeral from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in the Woodside Cemetery, at 11:30 am, on November 2, 2013.
