FITCHBURG -- Robert John Dufour, 88 of Fitchburg passed away at HealthAlliance/Leominster Hospital on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. Robert was born June 8, 1924 in Fitchburg son of Clovis and Yvonne (Leclerc) Dufour. He leaves his wife of 58 years Sophie (Rucinski) Dufour, two daughters; Julie Dufour of Leominster and Constance Dufour Niemi and her husband Robert of Winooski Vt., 2 sisters; Yvette Dufour of Fitchburg and Annette Dufour Kelly of Fitchburg, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 2 brothers Emile and Leo.

He was a former owner of Dufour's Garage and Motor Sales of Fitchburg, a World War II Navy Veteran, where he served 2 -- 1/2 -- years as a motor machinist and instructor in Florida. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. He was a Lifetime member of the American Legion Post 429, a member of the D.A.V. and a member of the Templeton Fish and Gun Club.

DUFOUR -- A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec.1, 2012 at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Interment will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Church Renovation Fund, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg, MA 01420. Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, Fitchburg is assisting family with arrangements.
