Sarah K. McCall
of Lunenburg, Air Force Vet; 43

LUNENBURG -- Sarah K. (Treptow) McCall, 43, of Lunenburg, died suddenly Sunday, February 9, 2014, in the hospital, after being stricken ill.

Sarah was born in Waukegan, IL, daughter of Robert W. and Lois N. (Schlueter) Treptow. Sarah was raised in Rindge, NH, was a graduate of Conant High School, and has lived in Lunenburg for the past year and in Gardner the previous 6 years. Prior to living in Gardner, Sarah lived in North Carolina.

Sarah proudly and honorably served her country with the United States Air Force as a Senior Airman both at home and abroad. She was awarded the US Air Force 1999 Munitions Professional of the Year from Pope Air Force Base, NC. Sarah enjoyed playing games and loved going to concerts. She was a member of the Gardner Museum. Her greatest joy was all the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She cherished every moment she spent with her entire family.

Besides her parents, Sarah will be sadly missed by her two children; Lucas Balaschak and his wife, Elizabeth of Gardner, and Nadine Pabon and her husband, Joshua of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Elizabeth Virgilio (Peter) of Boston, Christine Rosbury (Robert) of Gardner, and Norah Fredericks (Jeffrey) of Sterling; five grandchildren, Kale Ezzelle, Cambria Pabon, Atticus Pabon, Kristen Pabon, and Evelina Cravatta; her former husband and the father of her children, Jeffrey Balaschak of CA; and her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.

McCALL -- Relatives and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Sarah's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 6-8 PM. Her memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Glenallen St., Winchendon at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, you are kindly asked to make a donation to the Montachusett Veterans Outreach, 268 Central St., Gardner, MA 01440.
