LEOMINSTER -- Shawn Bunnell, of Leominster, MA, died suddenly on Saturday, at the age of 45.

Shawn's greatest passion was spending time with his family. He deeply loved his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. And they all loved him in return.

After graduating from Leominster High School in 1985, where he was a star athlete and co-MVP of the basketball team that advanced to the Central Mass. finals, Shawn attended Framingham State College, where he developed a passion for film, art and travel. After college, he enjoyed taking many adventures, including long journeys through the Outback in Australia, East Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

In addition to working in some of the finest restaurants in New England, Shawn was an extremely talented artist and craftsman. His family and friends will forever cherish his numerous paintings, photographs, wood-crafts, and other objects of art, which he created in his own personal arts studio in Fitchburg, MA.

Shawn will mostly be remembered for his tender and loving heart, his sharp intelligence, and his fierce loyalty to his friends and family.

Shawn is survived by his parents, Raymond and Karen Bunnell (DeCarolis) of Westminster, MA, his brother Patrick Bunnell and sister-in-law Leslie of Harvard, MA, his sister Kelly Ann Graham and brother-in-law David of Westminster, MA, his brother Kevin Bunnell of Boston, MA, and his nieces Hiley and Emmy, and his nephews Christopher, Jack and Maxx.

BUNNELL -- At the families' request, services at the Brandon Funeral Home and the funeral at St. Edward's Church in Westminster, MA, will be private for immediate family only and not open to the public.
