LUNENBURG -- Sheila L. (Flanagan) Murray, 76, a resident of Lunenburg for the past 15 years, died Monday, Feb. 25, at Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster, after being stricken ill at her home.
Her husband, Edward Murray, died many years ago.
She leaves a son, Stephen Murray, and a granddaughter, Ashley Heisler, both of Gardner; and one brother, John W. Flanagan, of San Diego, CA.
Mrs. Murray was a Registered Nurse at Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster, for 25 years, retiring in 2002.
She was a former member of St. Bernard's Parish in Fitchburg, was a 1955 graduate of Fitchburg High School, and a 1957 graduate of the former Burbank School of Nursing.
Sheila loved the outdoors and was known as a caretaker for wild ducks in Lunenburg.
She was born in Lynn, MA, on January 25, 1937, a daughter of the late John E., and Catherine M. (Battersby) Flanagan.
MURRAY -- Her Funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2, from the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass Ave., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Bernard's Parish @ St. Camillus de Lellis Church, 333 Mechanic St., Fitchburg.
Calling hours at the Funeral Home are on Friday, March 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Spring in North Cemetery, Lunenburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 1583, Merrifield, VA 22116-1583 or may be left at the Funeral Home.
