FITCHBURG -- Theodore Soubie, Jr., 66 years old, died Monday, October 21, 2013 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital. He is survived by his mother Vellamo (Luomala) Soubie of Fitchburg, his wife Sheila (Jones) Soubie of Lunenburg, his stepdaughters Stephanie Flagg and her husband Kevin of Winchendon and Michelle Ayers of Fitchburg, his brother Donald R. Soubie of Bel Air, MD, his sisters Ann Douglas and her husband George of Leominster and Brenda LeBlanc and her husband Arthur of Rindge, N.H., 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Theodore Soubie, Sr. in 2009.
Ted was born in Fitchburg on February 11, 1947 and lived in Fitchburg most of his life. He graduated from Fitchburg High School and attended Fitchburg State College. He was a Vietnam War U.S. Army Veteran. Ted worked for several years in inventory control at Pete's Tire Barn in Orange. He most recently was the primary care giver for his mother. He was a member and past commander of the AMVETS in Fitchburg and a member of the American Legion in Fitchburg. He enjoyed bowling and was a fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and NASCAR.
SOUBIE -- A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:30 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
