Tyson Charles Lajoie
of Leominster, MA; 27

LEOMINSTER, MA -- Tyson Charles Lajoie, 27, was born in Leominster, MA on March 24, 1986 and was greeted in heaven on Friday, July 26, 2013, by his maternal grandfather and also by his "Pop".

Tyson was the son of Wendy Bowers of Charlotte, NC and Rick Lajoie of Portland, ME. In addition to his parents he is survived by stepfather, Jim Ricciuti, and stepmother, Linda Lajoie; maternal grandmother Ann Bowers of Charlotte; younger brother, Jordan Lajoie and, stepbrother Brian Ricciuti, both of Charlotte; stepsister Heather (Chris) Allardice of Knightdale, NC; aunts, Kate (Ed) Bieski of Pottstown, PA; Terry (Dan) Potts of Charlotte; Lisa (Mark) Procopio of Mashpee, MA; uncle, Rick Ricciuti of Townsend, MA; cousins, Andrea (Jayson) Weeks, Jennifer Mihalcik, Ashlea Potts, and Antonio Ricciuti; and several other cousins, nieces, and nephews who were very special to him. Tyson was lucky to have the love of extended family that included grandmother Sylvia Briggs and uncles Gary, Steven, and Dana Briggs of New Boston, NH. Tyson was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles Bowers, his cousin, Danielle Potts, his "Pop", John Briggs, and grandfather, Charles Briggs.

Tyson graduated from Leominster High School in 2004 and Salve Regina University in 2009. While at LHS, Tyson played soccer and basketball and was the captain of both teams his senior year. His favorite sport, by far, was DEK hockey. Tyson was a member of four USA World DEK Hockey teams, helping Team USA win its first gold medal at the World Junior Championship in 2006. Tyson was popular in the locker room of his hometown DEK hockey teams, the Jets and the Flyers. Besides his success on the rink, Tyson was well liked off the rink. He was always talking to people, smiling, helping others, and having a good time. He was a wonderful son, brother, friend, and teammate - which is how his family hopes he will be remembered.

LAJOIE -- A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary at Leominster United Methodist Church, 77 Hall St. Leominster. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Synergy House, 1028 North High Street, Pottstown, PA, 19464.
