LEOMINSTER -- Virginia M. "Ginny" (Rutigliano) Duffy, of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 27, 2014, in Life Care Center of Leominster, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 7, 1944 in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Yvette (Blais) Rutigliano. She was raised in Fitchburg and attended and graduated from St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School. Ginny worked over 25 years as a waitress for the Gondola Restaurant in Leominster, MA, retiring several years ago.
Ginny enjoyed spending her time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She and her husband, Jack celebrated had their 50th year of marriage in February of this year.
She was a caring mother and loving wife, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, John "Jack" Duffy; her two sons, Barry J. Duffy and his wife, Deanna of Worcester, MA, and Mark P. Duffy and his wife, Susan of Leominster, MA; five grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Jonathan, Zachary, and Elizabeth; her uncle, Maurice Blais of Chelmsford, MA; her brother-in-law, Michael and his wife, Dot Duffy; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Patricia Widmer.
DUFFY -- Her funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 with a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony De Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg, MA. Interment will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Fitchburg, MA. A calling hour period will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The Lavery Chartrand & Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, MA, is directing.
