Wallace H. 'Bumps' King

TOWNSEND -- Wallace H. "Bumps" King, 90, of Townsend, died Thursday, February 6, 2014, at his home.
His wife of 63 years, Virginia P. "Gini" (Schreck) King died in May 2010.
Mr. King was born in Townsend, August 4, 1923, a son of George and Luttie (Blood) King and resided much of life in Townsend. He was a 1943 graduate of Townsend High School.
For 30 years, Mr. King worked as a superintendent at Reynolds Aluminum Company in Stratford, CT. Following his retirement in 1980, Mr. King returned to Townsend to begin a new career that spanned over two decades working with his family on the King Farm in Townsend which he very much enjoyed
During WWII, he served his country in the United States Army Air Corps.
He was a member of the Townsend Congregational Church, Townsend VFW, and the Model T Club.
He leaves his son, Dana King of Townsend; his daughter, Gini King of Townsend; a brother, Paul King of Townsend; a sister, Priscilla Smith of Townsend; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Albert King of Maine.
KING -- Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 12th at the Townsend Congregational Church, Brookline Street, Townsend. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
