FITCHBURG -- Gillian M. Lambert, 17, of Fitchburg, died Thursday morning, Feb. 20, at the UMass Memorial Healthcare's University Campus, after a lifelong struggle with Cystic Fibrosis.
She was born in Leominster on December 17, 1996. Gillian was a member of the Junior Class at Fitchburg High School, where she played in the band. She was also a performer in the Drama Club. Gillian was proud to be the oldest active member of the Fitchburg Girl Scouts in Troop 30740, and enjoyed working part time for Market Basket.
Gillian was a current member of Saint Anthony's Parish and Saint Joseph's Parish, where she was Confirmed on October 21, 2013. She had a fabulous outlook, infectious laugh, and wonderful smile. Gillian was always outspoken and standing up for her many friends. In 2011, she performed on Broadway in the musical Sister Act, where she played a nun and barfly. Gillian was a fan of classical rock music, especially Queen, Bon Jovi, The Eagles and Muse.
She leaves her father and step-mother, Jude and Susan (Smith) Lambert Sr. of Fitchburg; her mother, Laura (Punt) Howard and her husband, Kevin of Fitchburg; a brother, Jude A. Lambert Jr. of Fitchburg; two sisters, Madonna Trenholm and her husband, Jedediah of Fitchburg, and Grace Lambert of Fitchburg; her paternal grandparents, Bernard "Ben" and Genevieve Lambert of Leominster; step grandparents, John and Mary Howard of Leominster, and Kenneth and Maryann Smith of Fitchburg; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Gershom and Wilmetta Punt.
LAMBERT -- Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22 from the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, from 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Child Life Fund, c/o Robert Wing, UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center, 55 Lake Avenue North, Worcester, MA 01655.
