Claire B. (Casey) Holden

FITCHBURG -- Claire B. (Casey) Holden, 85, of Water Street, formerly of Daniel Heights, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Health Alliance, Leominster Hospital.
Mrs. Holden was born in Fitchburg, July 26, 1928, a daughter of William and Mary (Caissie) Casey and was a lifelong Fitchburg resident.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Holden and his girlfriend, Windy Wolfe of New Ipswich, NH; two daughters, Cheryl Lavoie, Diane M. Cordio and her husband, Brian, all of Fitchburg; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Raymond Casey, Henry Casey, William Casey, Robert Casey, Edmond Casey and Edna Erhler.
Mrs. Holden had worked as a waitress and bartender at the Blue Chip Lounge and Pullman Diner both in Fitchburg. Many years ago she worked at the former Comfort Slipper Company, also in Fitchburg.
She had attended St. Joseph's Church, enjoyed playig bingo and was an avid jigsaw puzzle maker. She had participated in the Montachusett Dart Association.
HOLDEN -- A celebration of Mrs. Holden's life will be 6-10 PM Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Britich American Club, 1 Simonds Road, Fitchburg. Private graveside services will be at the Pieta Chapel of St. Joseph's Cemetery, 486 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg.
