Beloved husband, father, and grandfather

LUNENBURG AND FITCHBURG -- Robert D. Nadeau, died April 4, 2014, at the Blaire House of Worcester, after a lengthy illness.

Robert leaves his wife of 36 years, Louise (Girouard-Brisson) Nadeau; a son, Stephen D. Nadeau and his wife, Diane of Lunenburg; two step-sons, Stephen Brisson of AK, Gregory Brisson of Fitchburg; one step-daughter, Lynn Belliveau of Fitchburg; one brother, Raymond W. Nadeau of Fitchburg; four grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Ashley, and Tara; one great-grandchild, Parker; 11 step-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jesse, Fawn, Michaela, Danielle, Jennifer, Darcie, James, Dustin, Cassandra, Jake; one step-great-grandchild, Mia; three nieces, Joanne, Joyce, and Chrissy; and one nephew Tim. He was fondly called Papa Nadeau and Grandpa Bob.

He was predeceased by a son, Mark W. Nadeau in 2009 and a step-son, Michael E. Brisson, in 2014.

Robert was born in Fitchburg on July 7, 1924, a son of the late William and Flora (Marchand-Desloges) Nadeau. Bob served in the U.S Army during World War II in Germany. He was a retired member of the Plumbers and Fitters Union, Local #4 of Worcester. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #429 of Fitchburg.

Bob enjoyed growing a vegetable garden every year, and could always be found tinkering around his house. He loved to help his family with any of the projects they were doing. He admired nature and loved to take walks in the woods. Bob enjoyed just sitting in the backyard, having a glass of wine with Louise.

NADEAU -- Bob's Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 9, from the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass. Avenue, Lunenburg with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Church 817 Mass. Avenue, Lunenburg, MA. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 486 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg, MA. Calling hours will be in the Funeral Home, on Tuesday, April 8, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Bob's Family asks that Memorial Contributions be made in his honor to St. Boniface Restoration Fund, 817 Mass Avenue, Lunenburg, MA 01462 or to the , 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
