LEOMINSTER -- Lois K. (Klunk) Rutkowski, 86, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Health Alliance - Leominster Hospital.
Mrs. Rutkowski was born in Baltimore, Maryland, May 6, 1927, a daughter of Joseph F. and Heywood (Douglas) Klunk and was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School in Washington, DC. She later continued her education at Georgetown University.
She was a member of the Montachusett Area YMCA and attended St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fitchburg. For over 20 years, Mrs. Rutkowski worked in the billing department at Leominster Hospital, retiring in 1997. Prior to that, she had worked at Catholic University in Washington, DC and Itasca Hospital in Woodale, Illinois.
She leaves two sons, Martin Rutkowski of Florida, Andrew Rutkowski of Fitchburg; three daughters, Kathryn Carvale and Judith Roux, both of Ocean City, NJ, Theresa L. Cormier with whom she resided in Leominster; a sister, Jacqueline Benson of Virginia; and 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Erwin L. Rutkowski in 1995.
RUTKOWSKI -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 A.M, Monday, April 14th at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fitchburg.
