LEOMINSTER -- William T. "Bill" MacAloney, 72 of Leominster, MA. passed away April 19,2014 in Sterling Village.
He was born in Fitchburg, MA. January 10, 1942 the son of Thomas and Josephine (DiSalvo) MacAloney. He was raised in Fitchburg, MA., where he attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School Class of 1960. Bill worked as an interstate driver for the former Tri-Sum Potato Chip Co. in Leominster, MA for 20 years. He retired in 1999 due to illness. He also served in the National Guard of Massachusetts.
Bill enjoyed working on cars and trucks , and camping with his family. He was a member of NAFCA Squaw-No-Cook Chapter #30. He also had been an assistant Scout Master and Little League coach for several years. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Leominster, MA.
He leaves his wife Irene (Duval) MacAloney of Leominster, MA., his two sons, William E. MacAloney and R. Thomas MacAloney and his wife Lisa all living in Fitchburg, MA., his sister Joan Crowley of Jupiter, Florida, six grandchildren, Courtney, Stephen, Robert, Jeffrey, Danielle, and Brandon and one great-grandson, Ryan. He was predeceased by his daughter Tammy A. Cormier in 2012.
MACALONEY -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday May 2, 2014, at 10a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Cecilia's Restoration Fund, 170 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA. 01453.
