Dorothy W. Stinehelfer; 94

LUNENBURG -- Dorothy W. (Whiteman) Stinehelfer, 94, a resident of Lunenburg since 1985, died Tuesday, May 6, in her home, after an illness, with her loving family by her bedside.

Her husband of 65 years, Harold E. Stinehelfer Sr. died in 2010.

She leaves a son, Harold E. Stinehelfer Jr., and his wife, Lois, of Billerica, MA; a daughter, Carol S. Arnold, and her husband, R. Bradley of Lunenburg; one sister, Ruth Rockey of Banning CA; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Brown in 1981, a brother, Robert Whiteman, and a sister, Grace Hanson.

Mrs. Stinehelfer was a Cost Accountant in the Food Department of R.H. Macy & Co. in New York for several years, and previously had worked in the same capacity for Audio Productions in New York and Ferrofluidics Corporation in Nashua, NH.

She graduated from high school in New York and received a Degree in Accounting from Pace University in New York City and later a Degree in Data Processing at Northeastern University in Boston.

She was very involved with The Gideons International and served as the Massachusetts State Auxiliary Secretary for many years. Mrs. Stinehelfer's heart's desire was to glorify Jesus Christ in her life and worship at his feet after her death

She was born in New York, New York, on January 12, 1920, a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth F. (McFadden) Whiteman, and previously lived in Burlington, MA for several years, before moving to Lunenburg.

STINEHELFER -- Dorothy's Funeral will be celebrated on Monday, May 12, with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Pilgrim Convenant Church, 138 Beal St., Lunenburg, MA. Dorothy's Grandson-in-law, Rev. Isaac Rattin will officiate, Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Lunenburg. Calling hours at the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass Ave., Lunenburg, are on Sunday, May 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, P.O.
