LEOMINSTER -- Sheila P. (Ciccone) Martin, 72, of Leominster, died peacefully surrounded by her children on Wednesday, June 11, in the Keystone Center.
Sheila was born in Leominster on July 24, 1941, a daughter of the late John and Mamie (Faticanti) Ciccone. She graduated from Henry's School of Hair Design and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She also owned and operated the Kozy Kitchen in South Gardner. Sheila lived with her loving daughter, Kristen, who cared for her until she needed more nursing care and became a resident of Keystone Center in 2013. Sheila made friends with the Keystone staff and residents whom she quickly considered as family.
The most important thing to Sheila was her family. She looked forward to their visits and remained an integral part of their lives.
Sheila's home was always a gathering place for family and friends. She always had an open door and enjoyed serving coffee and desserts to her visitors. For years, she made iced coffee and homemade pizza for her family on Friday nights. She carried on this tradition for many many years. Sheila loved to cook and taught her children how to make her favorite family recipes.
Sheila enjoyed making flower arrangements. She was very creative and even made the flower arrangements for her daughter's wedding. Sheila loved animals especially her cat, Sindal and her dog Gizmo. Unfortunately, Gizmo passed away in 2013, but Sindal remains a resident of Sheila's home.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Keystone Center in Leominster and to Life Choice Hospice for the special care given to Sheila.
She leaves her children, Mark Hebert of Ayer, Jeffrey Hebert and wife, Karen of Leominster, Scott Hebert and wife, Janice of Leominster, Pamela Hebert and partner, Maryann Marcoux of Harvard, Lesley Holder and husband, Calvin of Olympia, WA, Stacey Martin and her fiancé, Jeffrey LaVanway of Leominster; Kristen Andries and husband, Brian of Leominster; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one expected great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Sheila was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Hebert in 1998, and her second husband, Sam Martin in 2000. She was also predeceased by her brother, John "Bonzo" Ciccone and her sister, Marylyn LeRoy.
