Obituary Condolences

Alexander "Al" Heiser
of Leominster; 74

LEOMINSTER -- Alexander "Al" Heiser, 74, of Leominster, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 22, in UMASS Medical Center after a short illness.

He leaves his two children, Michael Heiser of Phoenix, Arizona, and Robin Heiser of Westminster; his six grandchildren that adored their Opa: Alex, Karissa, Amber, Christopher, Steven, and Samuel Heiser; two great-grandsons, Drexler and Maxwell Jones. He is also survived by two brothers, George Lauinger of Michigan and Anthony Lauinger of Florida, and many extended family members in North Dakota.

He is predeceased by his mother, Julita Lauinger, who died in 2011.

Al was born in Katarinental, Germany, and came to the United States with his mother in 1951. He spent most of his youth in Pontiac, Michigan, before serving in the United States Army. A transfer to Fort Devens led him to Massachusetts where he decided to settle and raise a family.

Al attended New Life Church in Leominster and was an avid sports fan. He still rooted for his Michigan teams, as well as his newly adopted home teams here in Massachusetts. Along with his good friends, he was a regular fan at most Leominster High sporting events and all the Leominster Legion baseball games.

HEISER -- A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m., at New Life Church, 834 Main Street, Leominster, MA. Burial will follow at 1 pm in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA. There will be no calling hours. The Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster is assisting the family with arrangements. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net
