FITCHBURG -- Bette C. (Dunshee) St. Martin, passed away June 14, 2014, in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lincoln, Vermont , May 8, 1934, the daughter of Wendell and Sadie (Peters) Dunshee.
Bette was the owner of the former Sandwich Shop and Craft House, both on Main St. in Fitchburg, MA for many years before her retirement.
She was accomplished in painting, watercolors and oil, painting scenery and landscapes. She along with her husband Eugene and family members, loved camping and she was a member of the Good Sam Club for many years.
She attended St. Camillus Church in Fitchburg, MA.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Eugene C. St. Martin; her daughters and caregivers, Wanda and her husband, Roland Leger of Lunenburg, MA, Gina and fiancé, Mark McGuirl of Fitchburg, MA, Dawn and husband, David Wentworth of Fitchburg, MA; her son, Thomas P. Neforas and wife, Rhonda of Fitchburg, MA; grandchildren, Jason and Taylor leger, Vanessa Gavin, Andrew, Courtney, and Devin Neforas, Ashlee and Samantha Wentworth; her brothers, Richard Dunshee in Westminster, MA, and Ronald Dunshee of Metarie, Louisiana; her sister, Patricia Laramee of Gardner, MA; and many nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Jacob St. Martin, a sister, Pauline Singfoot, and a brother, Wendall Dunshee Jr.
ST. MARTIN -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard Parish @ St. Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic St., Fitchburg, MA. All are welcome to attend. Inurnment will be in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery Winchendon, MA at a later time. There are no calling hours.
