Theodore A. Holmes, Sr.
Loving father, grandfather,

and great-grandfather; 85

ASHBURNHAM -- Theodore A. Holmes, Sr. 85, died peacefully Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, after an illness.

He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Claire Louise (Ballentine) Holmes, who died July 30, 2009.

Theodore leaves his two sons and daughters-in-law, Theodore A. Holmes, Jr., and his wife, Greta, Paul Homes, and his wife, Lori, all of Ashburnham; four grandchildren, Jeremy Holmes, Sarah Graham, Stacey Little and Ben Holmes; five great-grandchildren, Ella Little, Evelynn Holmes, Wesley Little, Laila Holmes and Addison Holmes.

He was born in Lunenburg, on June 2, 1929, a son of the late Aris and Rena (Johnson) Holmes. He worked as a fork lift driver for the former S. Bents Brothers Co, of Gardner for many years. Theodore enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and his chickens. He was a member of the Swallow Hill Sportsmen's Club and the Turnpike Rod and Gun Club. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

HOLMES -- Funeral Services and Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Gardner VNA Hospice, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
