William J. Brown, 88
FITCHBURG -- William J. Brown, 88 of Fitchburg, died Friday Aug 1, in the Health Alliance Leominster Hospital.
He was born in Bellows Falls, VT, a son of the late James and Beatrice (Wilson) Brown and has lived in Fitchburg for most of his life.
William was a WWI veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
William was a master electrician for Brockway Glass in Nashua, NH for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member and past president of the Montachusett Twirlers. William enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses in particular; he was also an avid reader and cherished his time spent with family. He was a member of St. Bernard's Parish.
William leaves his wife of 66 years, Margaret M. (Boudreau) Brown of Fitchburg; two daughters, Melanie C. Lombard and her husband John of Leominster and Holly A. Marceau and her husband Timothy of Fitchburg; three grandchildren, John, Nicole and Kimberly, two great-grandchildren, Amaya and Ava and nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by two sisters, Vern Boudreau and Ellen Towsley.
BROWN -- A private service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. There are no calling hours. The Isabelle Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
