of Fitchburg, paper co. retiree, WWII vet; 91

FITCHBURG -- Arthur O. Morin, 91, of Fitchburg, died Thursday, July 22nd, in his home, after an illness.

Mr. Morin was born in Fitchburg, May 5, 1919, son of Wilfred and Mederise (Deloge) Morin.

Mr. Morin retired in 1979 from the Weyerhaeuser Paper Co. where he had been a Millwright for many years working at Mills #7 and 8.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church.

He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands.

His wife, Rose Ann (LaRoche) Morin died in 2002.

He leaves four daughters; Fran Fluet and her husband, Rene of Leominster, Cecilia Tighe and her husband, James of Holliston, Dr. Suzanne Coldsmith and her husband, David of Shippensburg, PA, and Kathleen Bowen of Gray Maine; three sons, Dr. Richard Morin and his wife, Dr. Patricia Morin of Lincoln Nebraska, Stephen Morin of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and George Morin and his wife, Jane of Orange, MA; a brother, George Morin in Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

MORIN -- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 26th at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. A Calling hour will be held Monday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 in the Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St., Fitchburg. The family request that flowers be omitted and donations in Arthur's memory be made to: Healing the Children, 2140 44th St. SE., Grand Rapids MI 49508 or the Diversified Visiting Nurse Assoc. Hospice, 25 Tucker Dr. Leominster Ma 01453 or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 49 Woodland St Fitchburg, MA 01420.
