FITCHBURG -- Frank Kelley, 66, died Monday, January 31, 2011, at the Bedford Veterans Hospital in Bedford, after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Kyong (Hwang) Kelley; his mother, Joyce (Potter) Kelley of Towanda, PA; one son and his wife, Army Major Thomas Kelley and Snezana of Savanna, GA; one daughter and her husband, Jane (Kelley) Valadez and Steven of North Brunswick, NJ; four grandchildren, Fillip Kelley, Kristina Kelley, Mia Valadez, and Selena Valadez, two brothers, James Kelley of Towanda, PA, Gregory Kelley of Rome, PA; two sisters, Amy Kelley and Susan Kelley, both of Towanda, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by a brother, Colin Kelley, and a sister, Brenda Swingle.
Frank was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Elwyn Kelley. He was educated in Pennsylvania, and joined the US Army on November 8, 1964; he was a Vietnam Veteran and served 20 years before retiring on November 30, 1984, as a Staff Sergeant. He then worked as a Clerk for the US Postal Service before his retirement with them. He and his family have lived in Fitchburg for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Korean Veterans Association. Frank was an avid poker player and also enjoyed playing bingo.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
