longtime Leominster teacher

LEOMINSTER -- Margaret "Peggy" M. (Hatstat) Mazierski, 62 years old of Leominster, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus in Worcester, after an illness.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Edward J. Mazierski; three sisters, Jane T. Hatstat and Catherine A. Hatstat, both of Leominster, and Emma L. Mahoney and her husband, Steven of Altona, NY; niece, Kathleen Mahoney; nephew, James Maxwell; and her beloved cat, Chase.

She was predeceased by her sister, Mary A. Maxwell.

Peggy was born in Leominster on September 3, 1948, daughter of the late Edwin A. and Margaret M. (Enwright) Hatstat. She graduated from St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg in 1966 and from Fitchburg State College in 1971. Peggy also received her master's degree from Fitchburg State College.

She taught in the Leominster Public Schools for 32 years, retiring in 2003.

Peggy was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Church in Leominster. She was an avid reader, enjoyed photography and crafts, and she loved animals.

MAZIERSKI -- of Leominster, Margaret M. (Hatstat) Mazierski, 62, died March 25, 2011 in Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a Mass at 10 am in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster.
