AYER -- Vincent A. Beagan, 66, of Ayer, died on Monday, November 19, 2012, at his residence with his family.

He was born in Providence, RI on February 28, 1946, the son of the late Luke E. Beagan and Matilda (Gammell) Beagan. He grew up in Warwick, RI and was a graduate of Warwick High School in 1964. He entered the Army after high school and served for 20 years. He retired in 1984 and made his home in Ayer since then.

He was a Vietnam Veteran and also served in Hawaii, England, Germany and Korea. After the service, he worked in security for the Mitre Corporation, and later as a driver for many transportation companies in the area.

Mr. Beagan is survived by his wife, AnSun (Yi) Beagan of Ayer; a son, Vincent A Beagan Jr. of Ayer; a daughter, MaryAnn (Beagan) Jones of Winchendon; a brother, Luke E. Beagan Jr., of Rhode Island; a sister, Matilda (Beagan) Kahle of New Jersey; a brother-in-law, Robert Kahle of New Jersey, two grandchildren, Timothy M. Jones and Jeffrey D. Jones of Winchendon; five nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

BEAGAN -- A graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon, Ma at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Please see
