Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Multi talented

FITCHBURG -- Lorraine Olive (Shepard) Watkins, 79, died Friday November 23, at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after an illness with her loving family at her bedside.

Lorraine was born in Tewksbury, December 22, 1932, the daughter of Marjorie Shepard. She lived most of her life in Fitchburg but spent her later years with her daughters in Ashburnham and Westminster. For the past year she has been a resident of the Keystone Center in Leominster. She worked for several years as a waitress at Oak Hill Country Club.

Lorraine was a multi talented person having run her own cake decorating business, She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. As a teenager, she was a member of the Salvation Army and played the cornet in their band.

Lorraine was a member of the former Good Shepard Church in West Fitchburg and sang in the choir. She then was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Lorraine leaves her loving husband of 57 years, William Wallace Watkins.

They were married August 6, 1955. Her son and daughter-in-law Christopher J. and Barbara J. Watkins of Phillipston, her daughter Linda A. Marlborough of Westminster and her former husband Michael and Amy M. Kucher of Ashburnham. She also leaves eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a brother David Arsenault. Her son Francis G. Watkins died April 7, 1987. Several sisters also predeceased her.

She loved music and singing with her family and friends. She brought joy and laughter to all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

WATKINS -- Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Sunday December 2, from 1 to 2 P.M. followed by a service at 2:00 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Bennett Jones, Rector of Christ Episcopal Church will officiate.
