FITCHBURG -- Yvette L. Moquin, 71, of Fitchburg, MA, passed away peacefully November 9, 2012, in Parsons Hill Nursing Center in Worcester, MA.
She was born on December 12, 1940 in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of Jean Paul and Helena (Therrien) Moquin, and lived in Fitchburg for many years. She was a graduate of St. Bernard's High School Class of1958. Yvette went on to Leominster School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. She attended Loyola University in New Orleans to study Gestalt and Neural Linguistics.
She worked 43 years as a behavior and addictions psychiatric nurse at Alpha Omega in New Orleans and Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg.
Yvette had a love for acting and modeling, she was crowned Miss Leominster, she was an actress in many on and off Broadway plays, appeared on the "John Byner Show", "Guiding Light", and "Days of Our Lives", as a nurse. She traveled throughout the Middle East, Europe, China and the Carribbean Islands as a Pan Am Stewardess. She traveled with the Red Hats, The Elder Hostel, and spoke publicly with the Toastmasters. She volunteered at Shirley Prison to help inmates with public speaking.
She lived, laughed, loved, and was the best mother a son could ask for.
She is survived by her son, Gage Moquin Prentiss and his fiancée, Christiana Morgan Grefe Phd, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; two step-daughters, Elizabeth Prentiss of Eureka California, and Eva Quensell; one brother, Leonard A. Moquin and his wife, Diane Kirin-Moquin of Fitchburg, MA; one sister, Teresa A. Moquin of Fitchburg, MA; her nieces and nephews, Robert Leonard Moquin and his fiancée, Rachel Cox and her children, Orion and Brayden Cox, Lynn Moquin Valeri and her husband, Matthew and their children, Nathan Ryan and Emily Rose.
MOQUIN -- A funeral Mass for Yvette will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union St., Leominster, MA. All relatives and friends are invited to attend. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg, MA. There are no calling hours.
