CLINTON -- John T. Sweatland, Jr., 62, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, in UMass Medical Center in Worcester, after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his beloved wife of
32 years, Christine (Nash) Sweatland; two children, Adam J. Sweatland and wife, Renimara of Leominster, Julie Sweatland Gabos of Phoenix, AZ; siblings, William J. Sweatland, Robert A. Sweatland and wife, Libbie, Mary Luschen, wife of the late Keith Luschen, all of Clinton; Jean Lamarche and husband, Paul of Leominster; Michael Tassone and wife, Janice of North Adams.
He leaves four grandchildren, Amanda Massaro, Anthony Gabos, Lyndsey Sweatland and Larissa Banach; numerous nieces, nephews; and many dear friends.
John is pre-deceased by his brother, Thomas J. Sweatland.
John was born in Clinton to the late John and Madeline (Chiavaralotti) Sweatland. He was a graduate of the Clinton High School, and veteran of the US Army National Guard.
He began his career in metal manufacturing with Lund International before joining his current employer, J. Kittredge & Sons in Hudson.
John enjoyed card games with friends, and was an avid fisherman.
SWEATLAND -- Calling hours are to be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 2 until 4 PM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Funeral services will later be held privately.
