FITCHBURG -- Mary Ann (Norton) Ward, 64, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in University of Mass. Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after an illness.
Her husband of 22 years, and companion of 37 years, Albert Ward Jr., died in 2009.
She leaves one son, David A. Docekal, and his wife, May, of Grafton, MA; two daughters, Dawn Merrifield, and her husband, Jeffrey, of Leominster and Heidi M. Naylor, and her husband, Justin, of Fitchburg; one step daughter, Shirley A. Morrison of Fitchburg; four brothers, Tony Norton of Leominster, Robert Norton of Fitchburg, Richard Norton of Leominster, and Ernie Norton in CT; two sisters, Shirley Ramos in CT, and Carol Hutchins of Fitchburg; eight granddaughters, Tia Guzman, Emilie Maloughney, Jillian and Allison Naylor, Ashleigh Brown, Page and Brooke Merrifield and Shaughnessy Docekal; one great-granddaughter, Carmen Santiago and one great-grandson, Enrique Guzman; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, William, Frank and Edward Norton.
Mary enjoyed Bingo and played twice a week.
The family would like to express their thanks for the care given to Mary by the staff at the Golden Living Center in Fitchburg.
WARD -- A Celebration of Life will be held for Mary on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the British-American Club, 1 Simonds St., Fitchburg, MA. There are no calling hours. The Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water St., Fitchburg, is directing Funeral arrangements.
