FITCHBURG -- Francis W.R. Capone, 79, of Fitchburg, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, in Leominster Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Francis was born in Fitchburg on July 3, 1933, son of the late James and Louise (Lambert) Capone. He was a 1952 Graduate of Fitchburg High School, where he starred on the basketball team. Francis later went on to graduate from UMass Stockbridge in 1955.
He was the owner and operator of Central Mass. Garden Center and Landscaping. Francis was a member of the F.H.S. Booster Club, and enjoyed reading, traveling, and gardening.
Francis' greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves his two sons, Scott Capone and his wife, Leslie of Westminster, Keith Capone and his wife, Donna of Lancaster; grandchildren, Lindsay Capone, Nicholas Capone, Christopher Capone, Andrew Capone, and Justin Capone; sister, Eleanor Bissonette; many nieces and nephews.
Francis was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Romano) Capone in May, 2012 and his brother, James Capone, and sisters, Althea, Lena, Tina, and Esther.
CAPONE -- The funeral will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-7 P.M. on Sunday, December 2, 2012 in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations may be made to The Crocker Field Restoration Committee, Attn: Treasurer, 140 Arn How Farm Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
