LUNENBURG -- Frances Marie (Marceau) Dwyer, 96, a resident of Lunenburg since the 1940's, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, in Keystone Center, Leominster, after an extended illness.
Her husband, A. Jack Dwyer, died in 1978.
Mrs. Dwyer, along with her husband, owned and operated several Dairy Queen Franchises in the Montachusett area for many years.
She leaves her daughter, Karen E. Dignam, and her husband, Joseph of Lunenburg; and one granddaughter, Catherine F. Dignam, and her husband, James Sabino, of Chelmsford, MA. Frances was the last of seven siblings.
She was a founding member of St. Boniface Parish in Lunenburg and was a 1934 graduate of St. Bernard's High School. She was a huge advocate for humane treatment of animals.
She was born in Fitchburg, MA, on August 15, 1916, a daughter of the late Jerimiah and Eva (Bean) Marceau.
DWYER -- Graveside Services will be held at a later date in North Cemetery, Lunenburg.
There are no calling hours.
The Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass Ave., is directing Funeral arrangements.
