FITCHBURG -- Claude R. MacGray, 79 years old, of Fitchburg, formerly of Roslindale, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in the Keystone Center in Leominster. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Janet L. (Kells) MacGray, 3 daughters Debra Masey and her husband Bruce of San Antonio, TX, Darlene Buckless and her husband David of Chepachet, RI and Karen Allen and her husband William of Fitchburg, 2 sons Stephen MacGray of Providence and William MacGray and his wife Shari of Norton, a brother Kenneth MacGray and his wife Gail of Mashpee, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a great-great- granddaughter and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 sisters Hazel MacKenzie, Thelma Carr, Eunice Leary and Elsie Leary and 4 brothers William MacGray, Richard MacGray, Frederick MacGray, Jr. and Myrton MacGray.

Claude was born April 6, 1933 in Needham, son of Frederick E. and Mertie M. (Clark) MacGray and had lived in Roslindale for many years, before moving to Fitchburg 8 years ago. He graduated from Needham High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had worked for 40 years on the Railroad, before retiring in 1995 from AMTRAK. He was a member of the New England Historic and Genealogical Society and the Yarmouth County (Nova Scotia) Historical Society. He also was a member of the United Transportation Union. Claude enjoyed bowling, music and genealogy.

MACGRAY -- A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:30 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. A calling hour will be held Friday prior to the service from 10:30 - 11:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 am on Saturday, December 29, 2012 in Fairview Cemetery, 45 Fairview Ave., Hyde Park.
