LEOMINSTER -- Estelle M. (Blanchard) Smith, 99 years old, died Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Sterling Village.
She is survived by her son, Raymond R. Smith and his wife, Queenie, of Leominster; three daughters, Cecile Senn of Nashua, NH, Joan Dickinson of Leominster and Sandra Roy and her husband, Richard, of Milford, PA; two brothers, Raymond Blanchard of Athol and Richard Blanchard of Wisconsin; a sister, Vivian McDonald of Westborough; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond E. Smith, two sons-in-law, Delwin Dickinson and Herbert Senn; three brothers, Norman Blanchard, Francis Blanchard and Leslie Blanchard; a sister, Bertha Blanchard; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was born March 19, 1913 in Athol, daughter of Henry and Cecile (Mallett) Blanchard, and moved to Leominster in 1946. She graduated from Athol High School in 1931 and had worked as a seamstress at the former Elena Dress Co. in Leominster.
She was a member of St. Leo's Church for the past 67 years, of the Leominster Senior Center and a former member of the Emblem Club of the Leominster Lodge of Elks.
SMITH -- A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a Mass at 11 am in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 9-10:30 am in the funeral home.
