ELLWOOD CITY, PA -- Phillip Earl Morris, Jr. a native of Ellwood City, PA passed away January 17, 2013. Phil was an avid reader and an old school newspaper man. He devoted his adult life to spreading his love of sports by teaching learn to skate and ice hockey at all levels. He helped restart the College of William and Mary's Ice Hockey program and coached the team for 10 years.
He served in Vietnam and continued his public service working at Ft. Devens, MA as a Public Affairs Officer. After retiring, he pursued his passions for learning and history by becoming an interpreter for historic houses in Hampton Roads, VA.
Phil is survived by his wife Virginia "Jenny" Morris, his 4 children, 3 grandchildren, and his Labrador Jake.
MORRIS -- A celebration of his life will be held Friday from 4 till 7 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home on Baltic Ave.
