CLINTON -- Tiamarie R. (Carlson) Savino, 61, of Clinton died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester after being stricken ill. She is survived by her loving husband Antonio Savino; her son, Timothy Suokko & wife Megan of Fitchburg; her sisters & their husbands, Cyndy Dimartino & Michael of Ashby; Krystal Carlson-Devlin of Orange; Karyn Strauser & Bryan of MI; Karol Shoemaker & David of Warwick; Susan Holloway & Robert of KY; numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Tiamarie was born in Worcester to the late Kenneth & Irma (Smith) Carlson. She attended local schools and after graduating from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School she obtained her degree in childhood development from Mt. Wachusett Community College. Tia successfully owned & operated her own day care center for children from her home in Ashby for many years. She continued to care for children through the Gardner Head Start program, Brookside Family Child Care, and The Cottage Children's Center. She was a woman of great faith and devout member of the Ashburnham Community Church. Tia served as a former den mother for the Boy Scouts in Ashby, CPR instructor for the Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, and horseback riding and was also accomplished in crafting, sewing, quilting, & needle work.
SAVINO -- Calling Hours will be held from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday March 30th at the Ashburnham Community Church, 84 Main St., Ashburnham, with a "Celebration of Life" service to follow. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St.,Clinton. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made payable to Tony Savino c/o The Tiamarie Savino Memorial Fund c/o Worker's Credit Union, 319 North Main Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
