LEOMINSTER -- Brenda Flowers, 51 years old, of Leominster, died Friday, April 5, 2013 in Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her mother Mattie (Johnson) Flowers of Leominster, her daughter Kiah Mitchell of Leominster, 6 brothers: Larry Flowers, Garry Flowers, Jeff Flowers, Dwayne Flowers and Edward Flowers all of Leominster and John Flowers of Fitchburg; 6 sisters: Marva Flowers of Chicago, IL, Sherry Flowers, Shireen Flowers and Colleen Flowers all of Leominster, Barbara Flowers and Mary Flowers both of Fitchburg and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Abner Flowers, her twin sister Linda Flowers and her brother John Davenport.

Brenda was born August 12, 1961 in Leominster and had lived here most of her life. A lifelong learner, she graduated from Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner with two degrees in Criminal Justice and Human Services. She also attended and was in pursuit of a degree at Fitchburg State. Brenda proudly served in the Massachusetts National Guard. Brenda was a caring, compassionate woman who loved children and worked as a Nanny for several area families. In addition, she substitute taught at Reingold Elementary School in Fitchburg, MA. Brenda was a devoted mother who treasured her daughter, her family and lifelong friendships.

FLOWERS -- A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 1-2:30 pm in the funeral home. A celebration of life reception will be held at Franco American Hall, 300 Water Street, Leominster from 3-6:30 pm.
