Dorothy A. Lukas
of Fitchburg; 82

FITCHBURG -- Dorothy A. Lukas, 82, of Fitchburg, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 in the Walden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Concord.

Dorothy was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Stevenson) Sikora. She graduated from Battin High School in New Jersey. She later graduated from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and received her Bachelor's Degree from New York University.

Dorothy was a longtime parishioner of Faith United Parish in Fitchburg and belonged to the Leominster Art Association. She loved gardening and crossword puzzles. Dorothy was an avid reader who loved to travel, within the United States and internationally. In her spare time she enjoyed a round of golf and bowling.

She leaves her husband of 59 years, John S. Lukas Sr., her children, John S. "Jack" Lukas Jr. and his wife Debbie of Plainville, Jeffrey D. Lukas and his wife Caryn of Bradenton, FL, William R. Lukas and his wife Margie of Dracut, Lauren Hunnewell and her husband Frank of Harvard; grandchildren, Matthew and wife Kiley, Garrett, and Bryan Lukas, Jack Hunnewell, and Elizabeth Lukas; great-granddaughter, Milaina; brother, Robert C. Sikora and wife Ann of Clearwater, FL.

LUKAS -- The funeral will be held in Faith United Parish, 820 Main Street, Fitchburg on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 26 in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the , 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
