Cheryl Ann Harvey Obituary
Cheryl Ann Harvey
of Leominster, worked at IBM; 64

LEOMINSTER -- Cheryl Ann (Gagne) Harvey, 64, of Leominster, died peacefully, in her home on Friday, June 14.

She was born in Leominster on May 6, 1949, a daughter of the late, Ernest J. and Pearl M. (Mohan) Gagne. Cheryl graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1967 and received her bachelor degree in elementary education from Fitchburg State College in 1971. Cheryl would later receive her master's degree in business administration from Western New England College in 1982.

She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Greenfield before moving into the hi-tech field where she worked for most of her life as a finance manager. She retired at the age of 56 from IBM to care for her mother-in-law, and later her own mother as well as a cousin. Several years ago, she had worked for Lotus, Wang Laboratories, Digital Equipment Corporation, LFE, and Foster Grant.

Cheryl was known for her love of animals, as well as her passion for the ocean, particularly Cape Cod where she spent vacations in her second home. She also loved to stay in shape by working out at Orchard Hills Athletic Club. Her warm heart and compassion for others will be missed by all those who loved her.

She leaves her husband of 42 years, Steven R. Harvey of Leominster; a niece whom she raised and considered her a daughter, Jacqueline Anne (Heron) Johansson and her husband, Zachary; and their two sons, Connor R. Johansson and Cameron M. Johansson, all of Leominster; a brother, Kenneth F. Gagne and his wife, Anne of Alpharetta, GA; and her dearest friend and sister she never had, Barbara Courage of Leominster.

HARVEY -- Her funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, June 22, at 10 AM in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Friday, June 21, from 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the M.S.P.C.A., 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
