James Joseph Cotoni; 78 U.S. Postal employee -- LEOMINSTER -- James Joseph Cotoni, a resident of Leominster since 2012, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Sterling Healthcare, after a long illness with his loving family at his bedside. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth R. (Martin) Cotoni of Leominster; one son, Mark Joseph Cotoni, and his significant other, Lisa Ghilardi, of Leominster; two daughters, Sherry Marie Arsenault and Kimberly Rose Cummings, and her husband, John, all of Hudson, MA; one brother, Jerry Cotoni of Punta Gorda, FL; five sisters, Helen Kopisckle, Ann Leary, Irene Harding, Lillian Callahan and Edith Campbell, all of CA; six grandchildren, Heather Cotoni and her fiancé, Christopher Lamoureux, Candice, Samantha and Rebecca Arsenault and James and Kaylee Cummings; two great-grandsons, Maximus Bentley Sleeper and Coleton Liam Lamoureux. He was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard and Robert Cotoni, and two sisters, Kay Miam and Joan Bryne. James was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Waltham, MA for many years. He was an avid golfer, gardener, bowler, and enjoyed camping, all sports and being outside. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving at the rank of SP4, in the U.S. Army. He was born in Watertown, MA, on October 8, 1934, a son of the late Jerry and Lillian R. (Sousa) Cotoni, and lived in Waltham for 40 years, before moving to South Carolina and then moving to Leominster in 2012. COTONI -- His Funeral will be celebrated on Monday, July 8, from the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass Ave., Lunenburg, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main St., Leominster, MA. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours at the Funeral Home are on Sunday, July 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the , 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472, or may be left at the Funeral Home.
