FITCHBURG -- Janet J. (Testa) Mallard, 77, of Fitchburg, died on Sunday, July 21, 2013, in the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine while vacationing with her family.
She was born in Fitchburg on Sept. 17, 1935, a daughter of the late, Dominic and Julia (Brasili) Testa, and has lived here all of her life.
Janet began her working career at the former Comfort Slipper several years ago. More recently, she worked as a waitress at Claire's Luncheonette in Leominster, and helped out with her first husband's business, Leo's Maintenance.
Janet enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales as well as traveling to Foxwoods, but her true love spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 15 years, Ronald DeMeulle of Fitchburg; her four children, Leo A. Mallard, Jr., and his wife, Cynthia of Leominster; Maryjane LeBlanc and her husband, Daniel of Leominster, Daniel Mallard and his wife, Mary of Philipston and Julie Taylor and her husband, Zachery of Lunenburg; a brother, Domenic Testa and his wife, Claire of Leominster; a sister, Gloria Blair of Leominster; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Janet is predeceased by her first husband, Leo A. Mallard, Sr. who died in 1995, as well as a granddaughter, Chelsea Marie Taylor, four sisters, Rose, Lydia, Mary and Ida and seven brothers, Anthony, Louie, Armand, Ernest, Raymond, John and Joseph.
MALLARD -- Her funeral will be held on Thursday, July 25, at 6 PM in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Thursday, prior to the service from 4 to 6 PM. Burial will be private in the St. Leo's Cemetery in Leominster.
