Andrew A. 'Andy' Scott
of Fitchburg, Air Force Vet; 71

FITCHBURG -- Andrew A. "Andy" Scott, 71, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted wife, Edith "Edie" Ingemie Scott, family and friends.

Andy was born in Fitchburg, MA in 1941, son of Arthur W. and Gladys (Latuch) Scott.

He was a 20 year veteran of the US Air Force serving mostly in Europe. After retiring, Andy worked for Digital and Hughes Aircraft out of California. After returning to the States in 1993, he worked for International Rectifier in Leominster.

Most recently, Andy was a Family Advocate for the Bridge of Central Mass. He loved his work helping families through this position.

Andy also served on the Board of Directors for NAMI of North Central Mass. He and Edie worked together as Facilitators for a NAMI Family to Family Support Group at Clinton Hospital. Their hearts were joined in service to others. They loved their NAMI family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Ryan J. Scott and his fiancée, Brigitte Ferrante; his step-son, Frank R. Bilotta, Jr. and his wife, Angela and grandson, Riccis Bilotta; step-son, Michael Bilotta of Worcester; his sister, Rosalie Andre of Leominster; his nephew, Brian Walsh and his wife, Lisa; niece, Ann Walsh, who were so supportive through this illness; and close friends, Tish Adams and Louise Richard who shared his life in good times and recently through his illness.

Also, his "Albany Family" who brought him a great deal of Joy, Aunt, Viola DeMarco, her children, Mary Grace Mancuso, Anthony DeMarco, and Annette DeMarco, and her son, Yusef Wasterman, who was like a grandson to him.

Andy loved all of the countries he served and worked in and absorbed the culture of all. He loved his life and will forever be remembered as a selfless, devoted husband, father, and friend.

He found his soul mate and best friend in his wife, Edie. They shared a beautiful life together filled with love and devotion for each other and their family and friends. His great joy was to be a father and grandfather.

Andy was predeceased by his sisters, Anne Scott, and Rosemary Walsh and her husband, Robert.

SCOTT -- Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5-7 PM. A Celebration of life and words of remembrance will be held at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to NAMI North Central MASS, 3803 N. Fairfax Dr., Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.
