of Leominster; 88

LEOMINSTER -- Walter A. Hazard, 88 years old, passed away after an illness on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at HealthAlliance Hospital.

Walter was born November 16, 1924 in Harvard, to the late Walter Sr. and the late Hortense (Hennesey) Hazard. He was a WW II Navy Veteran who served at Iwo Jima aboard the USS Roi (CVE-103). He retired as a civilian employee at Fort Devens.

Walter leaves behind 4 children, Christian A. Hazard, Colin E. Hazard, Norma (Hazard) Bloxson, Colbey (Hazard) Moore, one sister Natalie (Hazard) Linder, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret L. (McCoy) Hazard in 1980 and by his daughter Lorraine L. Hazard on November 4, 2013.

HAZARD -- A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12 at 11 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. A visitation period will be held on from 9:30 -11 am prior to the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster.
