Robert C. Chester

LEOMINSTER -- Robert C. Chester, 72 years old, of Leominster, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in the Golden Living Center in Fitchburg.
He is survived by his son, Byron Chester; granddaughter, Kanisha Newby of Leominster; three brothers, Richard Chester of Leominster, David Chester and his wife, Marie of Leominster, and Peter Chester of Wallingford, CT; a sister, Helen "Jackie" Chester of Pepperell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Scanes) Chester, daughter, Kelly Newby, two brothers, George Chester, Jr. and Gerald Chester, and two sisters, Dorothy Jones and Joanne Teixeira.
Robert was born May 22, 1941 in Leominster, son of George and Dorothy (Dupee) Chester, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army, and then served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. Robert had worked in the Maintenance Department for Mass. Electric for several years. He belonged to various veterans' organizations in the area.
CHESTER -- A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. There are no calling hours. The Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster is assisting the family with arrangements. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net
