Bernie was ALWAYS supportive of my work in the CPS. He was an outstanding educator. The Chelmsford Public Schools and I were very luck to have Bernie as a colleague. I miss him.

It is with much sorrow that I learned of the passing of Bernie DiNatale. Bernie hired me in 1995 as a school librarian serving the Chelmsford Public Schools. His belief in my abilities was strong, so strong that he recommended I be hired even prior to the completion of my master's degree at Simmons College.
Bernie continued to believe in me and to show me the true meaning of the word "team." He was a consumate professional and a true mentor of many. His belief in the value of school libraries was unprecedented, and Bernie was never one to shy away from following his beliefs.
I had the pleasure of working with Bernie not only in the Chelmsford Public Schools, but also with him as consultants to the Los Angeles Unified School District after he retired.
Bernie knew the value of each and every member of his team, and treated everyone with equal respect and collegiality.
I have always felt honored to have known Bernie and to have been part of his team for the Chelsmford Public Schools.
Bernie DiNatale was an exemplary educator, leader, and friend. May he rest in peace.

Bernie's passing is met with deep sorrow for students, staff, teachers, administrators, our district-wide leadership team and all others who had the pleasure of working alongside him through his entire career. Bernie was a principled educator. He knew the importance of targeting students' needs and interests as the center of all educational decisions and initiatives. He knew that effective educators focus on students and adults as individuals, and he supported their professional growth and develop under a personalized strategy of continuous improvement. And, he knew the importance of honesty, loyalty, and good humor. His influence as a central office administrator went far beyond his role as a leader of education technology. He helped guide us through a variety of crisis situations and always operated as a member of the team. I am certain these principles were the hallmark of his work after he left the Chelmsford Public Schools.
I always valued Bernie's advice and counsel, but what I enjoyed most was the many personal conversations regarding his family and mine. Bernie's top priority was the welfare of his family. If you needed a good listener, sound advice, or just someone to talk to, Bernie was your man. I and many others are pleased to have called him our friend.

So sorry for your loss. Mr. D. was one of the greatest teachers that I ever had - not just for Electronics (and my homeroom teacher) but as a life mentor - he took us all under his wings as it were

Candy and family,
I have not seen Butch in years, but we were more like brother and sister than just friends at Lower Naukeag Lake in Ashburnham.
He loved to tell jokes and laugh. He was a big tease and loved water skiing and was very good at it. I can still see him coming in at Fontain's pier and grabbing hold of the bar so he wouldn't get wet.
I will always keep him in my heart and Candy and children, I pray that one day soon you will be able to laugh about all the crazy things he's done and said.
In Christ,
Diane Bibeau Dover
