FITCHBURG -- Leo William Belliveau, 65, passed into the arms of his heavenly Father at his home on Friday, January 10, 2014, with his loving family at his side.
Leo is survived by his sister, Nancy Meehan and her husband, James of Fitchburg; his two brothers, Richard Belliveau of Greensboro, NC and Brian Belliveau and his wife, Brenda of Sandown, NH; as well as three brothers, Donald Boucher and his wife, Simone, of Fitchburg, Denis Boucher and his wife, Irene, of Climax, NC, Douglas Boucher and his wife, Gayle of Danville, PA, and his sister, Joyce Boucher of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by an aunt and uncle, several nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins, who loved him very much and considered him to be a very special uncle.
He was born on September 21, 1948, in Fitchburg, a son of the late Peter J. and Alice G. (Tousignant) Belliveau, and is also predeceased by his stepmother, Mary A. (Cheries) Boucher Belliveau.
Leo was a 1966 graduate of Fitchburg High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. In his earlier years, he was a member of St. Joseph's Cadets and the Royal Knights Drum and Bugle Corp of Fitchburg.
Leo worked for Wal-Mart as a Stock Control Specialist for several years. He was an exceptionally gifted photographer of nature. He was an avid reader, enjoyed watching current events, the history channel, movies, as well as listing to a variety of music.
He traveled extensively throughout the United States with California being his favorite state.
He will be missed by all who loved him for being the very gentle loving and caring man that he was to all of his family and friends.
Leo's family is extremely grateful for the wonderful care that he received in the Palliative/Hospice Care Unit at the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital, as well a the exceptional hospice care given to him by the Gardner Visiting Nurses Association during his final days at home with his loved ones.
BELLIVEAU -- Following cremation, a memorial service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions may be made in Leo's name to the Brockton Veterans Administration Medical Center Palliative Care Unit, 940 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301 or the GVNA Health Care, Inc., 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
