Langtry, Richard B. 6/4/1926 - 12/31/2014 Flushing, MI Richard Bennett Langtry, age 88, of Flushing, MI, passed away December 31, 2014, at McLaren Hospital, Flint, MI. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of McLaren Hospital for their compassion and support. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015, 11 a.m., at Flushing United Methodist Church. Luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flushing United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Richard was born June 4, 1926, in Port Huron, MI, to Bennett Langtry and Laura Yake Langtry. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School, Class of 1944, and served proudly in the Navy during World War II and was recalled to serve during the Korean War. Richard attended Flint Junior College and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Medical Technology. He worked for the City of Flint for 25 years and Genesee County for eight years, retiring in December, 1988. On June 3, 1947 he married the love of his life, Lois Irene Thayer. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and had earned the distinction of being a Master Gardener. He was also a member of the Masonic Temple of Flint and the VFW of Flushing. Richard will be missed by all and never forgotten. Richard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois; his daughters, Deborah Atkinson, Kathleen Quintanilla, Patricia Langtry, all of Flushing, and Kimberly (Matt) Courts of Flint Township; grandchildren, Brian (Kimberly) Bright, Dan (Lisa) Atkinson, Dellana Frecking, Ashley Atkinson (Mike), Chad (Michelle) Quintanilla, Victoria (Larry) Kinzie, Christopher Langtry, Kyle (Nikki) Courts and, Brandon Courts; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brian II, Hayley, Ben, Harris, Mira, Madix, Weston, Dashel, Reed, Chloe, Sophia, Ella and Kylie; nephew, Lyle (Carla) Stowe and family; nieces, Michelle (Larry) Webb, and Ellie (Rick) Smith. use dodds loga
