GERALD LOUIS "JERRY"
Gerald Louis "Jerry" Cattaneo, age 72, retired Chief of Police of Fenton, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on May 16, 2013. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, May 20, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, 5 - 9 PM Saturday; 1 - 9 PM Sunday; and at the church 10 - 11 AM Monday. A Vigil Service will be held 7:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. John G.I.F.T Campaign. Jerry was born on June 27, 1940 in Detroit to the late Peter and Mary Cattaneo. He married the love of his life, the late Jeannette (Narkiewicz) on November 11, 1961. He became a police officer in the City of Detroit in the 1960's and retired as Lieutenant January 1,1987. In 1987, Jerry became the Chief of Police in Fenton where he spent the most rewarding years of his career until his retirement in 2003.
